We plan for a broad and rich curriculum which includes special events in school, visitors to the school and off-site visits.
We have special weeks each term when we work off timetable across year groups, giving children the opportunity to learn together through a cross-curricular and creative theme. Here are some examples:
"Christianity around the World" RE Week
An environmental art and DT week called "Building for our Future"
"See me as I am" a week on inclusion exploring disabilities
A geographical week exploring countries "Around the world"
Working with an artist in residence learning how to draw and paint animals
"Investigations" with an emphasis on Science and Maths.
Exploring stories by Julia Donaldson through the Arts with a special focus on Dance and Music.
Exploring themes of sustainability in "Protect our Planet" week.

Classes visit places linked to their topics and visitors are welcomed into school. Our international links also enrich our curriculum and we enjoy visits from friends in Nepal, Uganda and China.
Religious Education -We take part in workshops at Guildford Cathedral and Wintershall and visit our local parish churches. Children visit the Woking Mosque, the Weybridge Synagogue, The Neasden Mandir and Guildford Cathedral. Prayer Days working with the local parishes
Theatre - Children regularly experience live theatre; The Pied Piper Theatre Company performs at our school in January. The Royal Shakespeare Company work with KS2 and the Polesdon Lacey Shakespeare company with Y2. Y5 have a trip to a West End production and Year 6 ballet at the Royal Opera House.
Music - Children visit GLive for Music concerts and take part in collaborative projects such as Young Voices at the 02, the Magna Carta Project "The Freedom Game" and "Let my People Go" at the Royal Albert Hall and Dorking Music Festival. We link with the Surrey Hills International Arts Festival for visiting musicians. Children have music workshops with Earthsong linked to their topics exploring Japanese drumming, African and Chinese dance and music and the Amazing Americas.
Science ICT and DT - We take part in science challenges at secondary schools, the Lions Roar competition, the Primary Engineer Award, visit Surrey University, and the NFU Farmvention competition.

Other Events - WW2 Day at Henley Fort, A creative arts and nature day at RHS Wisley, a theatre Trip to GLive to see "The Tiger who came to tea", visits to the Odeon Cinema, the Rural Life Centre at Farnham, enjoying a Circus Skills day, dance and drama workshops, and a Mobile Farm visit, taking part in the scarecrow festival at RHS Hampton Court Flower Show,
